Klimbing For Kids 2018

It’s been a couple weeks since the launching of the Klimbing For Kids project to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in October and the excitement is building!  We’ve already received a lot of great comments, encouragement, commitments to pray and raise funds.  So first off, I’d like to say thank you.  Thank you to those who have stepped up, made the decision to help and have committed to be a part of taking on this mountain.

As I mentioned before, we have more ways for you to be involved besides making the climb with me—which several folks have already signed up for—to help reach our goal of raising $500,000.  I realize most of you won’t be able to go, and even if you could, you’re probably smart enough not to take this one on, and I understand that!  But, this is one of those projects that anyone can be involved in.  Look through these ideas and see which suits you.

Here’s how everybody can help:

  1. Be a Climber – Claim one of the 50 spots available to go with me and make the climb.  You can go to the website and set up your own page to get people to support your climb.
  2. Be a Mountain Mover – You can enlist a group of friends, family, coworkers, church group(s) to raise funds as a project.  Set a goal—get creative!  Organize a group to pray during the climb, from the first step to the last. Take shifts. You know we’re going to need it!
  3. Take a step with me – Get sponsors who will commit to pledging $1 per foot that I climb; it could be 10 feet ($10), 100 feet ($100), etc. We are looking at 175,000 feet.
  4. 50/70 Club Caleb – If you feel like you want to go "all in," maybe this is for you.  Make this your project to raise $5,000 or $7,000 as part of the 50/70 Club Caleb.  Enlist businesses or groups who would want to take a huge step to partner on this level. This makes reaching our goal of $500,000 seem so much closer.

The celebration of 50 years of ministry and turning 70 is a milestone, and a lot of people I know are going to want to be involved in this.  I sure hope you will be one of them.  Even if you’re not climbing, as I said, you can still be as involved as you want to be in one (or more) of these ways we’ve shown you.

Please let us know, time is of the essence—October 3rd is closer than you think!  We have so much preparation to do and want to get you the information you need.  So, if you have any ideas or if you’ve got any questions, all the information is available on the website or just give us a call.

Numbers 13:30 – Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.

Just like Caleb, I am confident we are "well able" to make “Klimbing For Kids” the mountain-crushing victory it needs to be!

Looking to the mountain –

Pastor Bill
