A Dutch startup is challenging the belief that battery-powered aircraft must be small and short-range, proposing to develop a 90-seat, 500-mi.-range all-electric airliner.
“We’re not going to point fingers,” the Boeing CEO said. “Because, yes, it escaped their factory; but then it escaped ours too. So, we’re all in this together.”
Even as Lufthansa Group places an order for Airbus A220 crossover jets, the group’s Italian regional subsidiary, Air Dolomiti, is in the throes of expanding its fleet of rival Embraer E190s.
