| Jump straight to commonly used settings

In Windows 10, Microsoft has steadily migrated the bulk of system configuration options from the old Control Panel to the new Settings app. In the new environment, the easiest path to a specific option is usually through the search box. Type the first few letters and the shortcut you're looking for should pop into the results list.
But for those who want one-click access, Windows 10 includes a selection of commands that can take you directly to the appropriate Settings page, and in some cases even carry out an action. All of these commands begin with ms-settings: and work from a Command Prompt window, from the Run dialog box, and especially from shortcuts and in scripts.
Here are some useful samples:
ms-settings:activation Show the current activation status
ms-settings:backup Open the options for File History backups
ms-settings:windowsupdate-action Go to Windows Update and check for new updates
ms-settings:windowsupdate-history Display the list of installed updates
ms-settings:powersleep Show settings for turning off the screen and going to sleep
