| Jump to a distant folder with one click

Windows is filled with shortcuts and pointers that make it easier to work with files and folders without having to navigate through folder hierarchies or type long paths. But those shortcuts can be a source of frustration. In Windows 10, for example, you might see the name of a file you worked with recently listed in the Quick Access pane. But what if you really want to work with a companion file that's stored in the same folder?
To make that leap in one click, use the little-known Open File Location menu option, which is available when you right-click a file or folder shortcut.
Clicking Open File Location displays the entire contents of the folder that contains the file you right-clicked. Hold down Shift as you click Open File Location to display that folder's contents in a separate File Explorer window.
