You're invited to the Jackson County Democrat's summer fundraiser "Wine in the Garden" on August 25th!

Jackson County Democrat's Summer Event: Wine in the Garden 2022

Bringin' On The Blue Votes!

Thursday, August 25th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Now's the time to get your tickets for this summer's in person fundraiser, our annual Wine in the Garden event coming up on Thursday, August 25th.  This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet with Democrats and progressives from across Jackson County, hear from our state leaders and help your local party build up our funds to build a better and "bluer" Jackson County.

This will be an evening of FUNdraising to kick off the fall midterm election season with our local and regional candidates. There will also be music by local bluesmen David Pinsky and Phil Newton!

If you'll be out of town or can't attend for any reason, please consider making a donation to the Jackson County Democrats as we begin to lay the groundwork for the upcoming elections.

Please purchase tickets in advance as we will not be able to accomodate people buying tickets at the door.  This event often "sells out" so please purchase your tickets as soon as possible.

Reaching out to Voters in Southern Oregon . . .

Your local Democrats were greeted with many rounds of applause and cheers when we marched together in Ashland's Fourth of July parade this summer.  Thank you to all the Democrats who participated.  We were joined by Denise Krause (who is the Democrat running for Jackson County Commissioner, Seat #1 against Republican, Rick Dyer) and her campaign team, Dan Davis (who is the Democrat running against Republican Kim Wallan, for the Oregon House Seat for District 6) and Joe Yetter, our Democratic nominee for Oregon's District 2 US House of Representatives' seat.

Please mark your calendars for these upcoming opportunities to help us reach out to Jackson County voters:

Stay tuned for more information on these events.

Become a Neighborhood Leader!

"Hope is an Action - We can ALL take . . " -Cornel West
--A Note from David Sours, Neighborhood Leader Program, Chair

Reproductive rights under assault.
Climate regulation overturned.
School boards taken over by the alt right.
Election conspiracies running rampant – even in Southern Oregon.

The list of outrages seems endless . . . .

Oregon’s Republican party would like nothing more than to extend oppressive laws to our county and state.   The Grand Old Party plans to do this by taking over the Oregon State Legislature and Governor’s office in the coming Midterm Election (Nov. 8, 2022).   And next spring (2023) the Republicans plan to go after our school boards.

But there is something we can do about all this . . . and it starts right in your own neighborhood . . .

Our shared moral outrage goes only so far.  If you want to make a difference, you really can—but you might have to get outside your comfort zone. You can start by reaching out to your neighbors . . .

We can only stop them by getting more votes.

Let us help you find your role in this effort.  There are many possibilities, but first please consider becoming a Neighborhood Leader with the Jackson County Democrats. Volunteering as a Neighborhood Leader (NL) is an easy program that helps you reach out to like-minded voters in your community and make sure they vote! It’s our party’s most effective avenue to GOTV (Get Out the Vote).  Find out what we do at https://www.jcdemocrats.org/nlp-recruit.
If you’re not sure the Neighborhood Leader Program is the right fit for you, send a note to NLP@gmail.com, or call 541-601-2948 (David Sours).   There are other possibilities; we’ll do our best to find something that works for you.
Already a Neighborhood Leader?  Please try to identify one person who is supportive of your efforts as an Neighborhood Leader.   Invite them to join us.   Currently we have 229 NLs.   If each of us recruits one person, we could have virtually every neighborhood in Jackson County covered!
Please join us. As your neighbors, we refuse to give up HOPE for our democracy and we are dedicated to taking ACTION in our communities.
