Dear Skiers/Riders, The team at Cypress Mountain are continuing to work very hard in preparation for the upcoming 2020/21 winter season. Uncertainty about what lies ahead has created the need for us to "think outside the box" and take important steps to ensure that we are prepared to provide all of our loyal visitors with the best opportunity to enjoy our Resort when the snow flies. With the early forecasts looking very positive, we are enthusiastic that our extensive contingency planning will allow us to be successful with our goal. Public safety is at the forefront of every step and investment we have taken in preparation over the summer. Here is snapshot of some of the things you can expect when you arrive this winter: New auto flush toilets & touchless sinks in Cypress Creek Lodge and Hollyburn Lodge Additional convenient hand washing and sanitizing stations throughout the Resort An upgrade of Ecommerce to support online purchases throughout the resort An upgrade of our restaurant point of sale system to support pre-ordering & takeaway services New covered outdoor dining facilities Upgraded Cypress Creek Lodge ventilation and air filtering system Compared to many physical activities, snowsports at our Resort this coming winter will offer relatively low-risk outdoor recreation. We are expecting to scale back or modify some of the indoor activities and facilities, which we normally provide, in order to ensure that we comply with provincial requirements for distancing and sanitisation. We will try to make these changes as seamless as possible for our guests. We applaud the leadership of our health professionals which Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix have provided in controlling the spread of COVID-19 over the summer months. Cypress Mountain, with the support of the provincial ski industry, are working collaboratively with Health Authorities to develop evolving best practices to protect the health and safety of our employees and guests as we approach our projected November opening. We plan to make an announcement on November 6, 2020 outlining the operating protocols that we will be starting with when the Resort opens. We have high hopes that with a projected five month season, the overall situation will improve as we proceed through the winter. We are pleased to be introducing a "Season Pass Deferral Program" which will accommodate any season passholder who is unsure if they want to participate this winter and wish to defer the use of their 2020/21 Season Pass with no cost or penalty to the 2021/22 winter season. https://cypressmountain.com/season-pass-deferral-program We certainly look forward to welcoming everyone back this winter to enjoy the snow covered terrain, fresh crisp mountain air and those unbeatable views from the top of Sky Chair. Please keep in touch for updates over the next few months. See you on the slopes!
