As we head into 2025 and reflect on another full year at Foodwise, we are so grateful for you, our beloved Bay Area food and farm community. For more than 31 years, Foodwise farmers markets have been a place of belonging and possibility in San Francisco—a shining example of what’s possible when we value and nurture each other and the planet. 

Your support builds a strong Bay Area foodshed: one where small California farms and food businesses thrive, fresh food is at the center of everyone’s plate, and youth are empowered to be tomorrow’s food leaders. Let’s look back at what we accomplished together in 2024.

Volunteer in the New Year

Resolve to support your local food community in 2025! Make friends, gain skills, and give back volunteering at Foodwise farmers markets and education programs. Join us for an orientation at the Ferry Building on Wednesday, January 22, 5:30 pm, to learn about ways to get involved.

Crispy Chinese Sausage and Cilantro Pancakes

Kristina Cho, author of Mooncakes and Milkbread, demonstrated her twist on the classic green onion pancake. Enjoy it with a side of chili oil and tender herbs.

Ferry Plaza Farmers Market: Featured Vendors

Brokaw Ranch is back on Saturdays with winter fruit like cherimoyas, white guavas, Hayward kiwis, Eureka lemons, mandarins, and more, all grown on 200 acres in Southern California.

Nutritionist Mary Risavi uses ingredients from local farmers in her fermented, nutrient-dense sauerkrauts and sauces. Visit Wise Goat Organics on Saturdays at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.
