Friend,
Over 50 years after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., fully embracing his legacy still threatens the preservation of a white-racial hierarchy. But that’s all the more reason why we must challenge any efforts to sanitize or otherwise undermine the struggle for racial justice — especially given the current political climate.1
In 2016, our nation elected a president who ran a racist campaign from day one. And just over 4 years later, he spurred a violent white-supremacist insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. As we move forward with a new administration, we cannot sweep our history under the rug — Trumpism is not new, and it will not go away unless we face it and force it out. Today, that means taking action to hold Trump accountable and make sure that he can never hold public office again.
Take action: Tell the Senate to convict and disqualify Trump from holding public office ever again.
Thanks!
Lucia

Friend,
Donald Trump is the first president in U.S. history to be impeached twice. And his latest impeachment was for inciting a violent insurrection against the United States.
With a crime of this magnitude, impeachment without conviction is not enough. Today we urge you to take action against the forces that drove the Jan. 6 insurrection. Tell your senators: Convict Trump and ban him from ever holding public office again.
Trump incited an insurrection against the United States Congress because he refused to accept that he lost the election. He did nothing as a white-supremacist mob attacked the Capitol, prepared to harm members of Congress and the vice president.
His message to the racist mob was: “I love you and you are all very special.”
This is unacceptable. For the sake of our democracy, the Senate must ensure that Trump never holds office again.
Now that the House has once again impeached Trump, the Senate will reconvene to hold a trial to determine if Trump should be convicted and removed from office. Yet Mitch McConnell plans for this trial to take place after Trump leaves office.
Even though the trial won’t happen until Trump is already gone, it could still prevent him from running for president again.
We cannot allow this desperate despot to regain power in future elections. He is a threat to democracy, our communities and our country. Take action: Tell the Senate to convict and disqualify Trump from holding public office ever again.
Thanks for all you do,
