Good morning. The term 'web scraping' has entered the everyday lexicon with the proliferation of large language models and generative AI tools, which may lead many to take the legality of the practice for granted. However, the act of crawling the web and scraping data from companies' websites—a regular practice for training many LLMs today—is being met with differing levels of regulatory scrutiny and privacy protection measures around the world.
