 JULY 8, 2019 Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein was charged with one count of sex trafficking conspiracy and one count of sex trafficking, according to an indictment filed by the Southern District of New York. The SNDY also reportedly confiscated photos of nude or partially nude young girls from Epstein's New York mansion. The latest case against Epstein has returned scrutiny to his 2008 arrest by Palm Beach police, when investigators sought to charge him and two assistants with crimes tied to his sexual behavior with underage females at his home. Epstein, however, was able to make a non-prosecution agreement that allowed him to dodge more serious charges and a potential life sentence. That deal was negotiated by attorneys for Epstein and agreed to by former Miami U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta, who is now President Trump's labor secretary.  “[The Southern District of Florida] did a pretty masterful job of keeping this whole scandal under wraps,” said Julie K. Brown, the Miami Herald journalist who broke the story. “They quite frankly misled the public, but they misled the judge.”
"Epstein's a predator and Acosta cut a secret, illegal, sweetheart, outrageous deal and he shouldn't hold the job that he currently holds. He needs to go as Secretary of Labor," said Sen. Tim Kaine on All In.
