Cooking tips for lockdown and Easter ideas Word Of Mouth | The Guardian
Tom Hunt's food for thought |

Hi everyone! Sending you all well wishes from my kitchen quarantine. Flour is like gold dust and yeast seems more valuable than diamonds, right now. But don’t fret if you haven’t got all the ingredients you need. We can help with your cooking during these strange times - below is a wonderful article from my colleague, describing how to bake cakes without key ingredients (such as sugar, eggs, butter, flour, or even an oven) and a list of traybakes for lockdown with tips from Kitchen aide. Meanwhile, my Waste not column is continuing with a similar emphasis on super-flexible recipes that use up store-cupboard ingredients. Last week my recipe was for a whole roasted cauliflower, which makes a perfect vegan centrepiece for any Easter table. Coming up (and in my archive) I’ve got tonnes more zero waste recipes to use up your odds and ends. Over on Instagram @cheftomhunt, I’ve been using my extra home time to bring my recipes to life with videos including soda bread, nettle chips, ferments and sourdough tutorials. Stay safe and happy cooking! Tom |
