ACLU takes up case of woman fired for menstrual symptoms
The American Civil Liberties Union is appealing the dismissal of a case involving a Georgia woman who says she was fired for leaking menstrual blood on a chair and carpet at work. The judge who dismissed the case said Alisha Coleman had not proved her "excessive menstruation was treated less favorably than similar conditions affecting both sexes."
