The number of people dying in workplace shootings has increased in recent years, hitting 394 in 2016, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Shootings accounted for almost 80% of workplace homicides in 2016, but an FBI study has found women carried out less than 4% of active-shooter situations between 2000 and 2013.
