The WSJ reported that employees at firms offering personalized services, such as shopping and travel suggestions, are accessing and reading Gmail users' messages. While not referencing the story directly, Google Cloud's director of security, trust and privacy, Suzanne Frey, published a post in the wake of the report, in which she outlined Gmail's privacy protections and shared advice on how to keep your account secure. | Microsoft Teases New Outlook.com Dark Mode | The Verge | Microsoft is planning to introduce a dark mode to its Outlook.com web mail service. While the software giant introduced a temporary dark mode for Halloween last year, Microsoft has been working on a new dark mode for Outlook.com for the past few months. Microsoft has started teasing that the new dark mode will be available soon. “One reason for the delay is our insistence that we deliver the best Dark Mode of any leading email client (you’ll understand when you see it, I guarantee),” explains an Outlook.com team member in a feedback post. | Apple Reportedly Launching New iPhones in Blue, Orange, and Gold Colors | The Verge | Apple is expected to launch larger iPhone models later this year, and they may arrive in a variety of colors. 9to5Mac reports that reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is predicting that Apple’s rumored 6.5-inch OLED iPhone will launch in black, white, and a new gold color. The rumored 6.1-inch LED iPhone will also reportedly debut in grey, white, blue, red, and orange variants.
