How are restaurants going to change?
Real talk: Time Out enjoys eating out. Cutting-edge Chinese concept restaurants, semi-ironic street food, enormous and terrifying pizzas, any meat with the word ‘jerk’ immediately before it. We are not fussy. You can imagine, then, our concern when The Bastard Covid (as we’re calling it) made it impossible for restaurants to reopen normally. We asked a bunch of food-world bigwigs: what’s in store for your favourite joint?

Today, 8pm Watch comedians pretend they
can sing
Join comedians (and married couple) Rachel Parris and Marcus Brigstocke for their Tuesday Night Club hosted by James Gill. Tickets are £3.50, and there will be comedy (as you’d expect) and a husband v wife lip-sync battle (didn’t see that coming,
did ya?).
The best of the rest:
Today, noon If you found yourself next to an erupting volcano, you’d run, right? But what would an animal do? Find out about the fascinating relationship between animals and volcanoes in this Natural History Museum talk.

Today, 7pm Feel like escaping planet earth right now? This Royal Institution talk explores whether there really is life on Mars.

Wednesday, 6.30pm As part of the Somerset House digital programme, French artist NSDOS is teaching an introductory workshop on how to make beats and electronic music. Finally, a new way to annoy your neighbours! (£10).

Black restaurateurs across the capital talk to us about what they want to see happen differently, now that eateries are opening their doors again. How can we level the playing field and make the food world a more inclusive place? The fight for a fairer industry – and more prominence for African and Caribbean food in London’s dining scene – starts
here, folks.
