| | | 1. Apple Pie à la Mode Chocolate Bar If you don’t feel comfortable eating in restaurants, why not just … mail yourself dessert? Seattle Chocolate Co. is known for its varied flavors of truffle bar, but its seasonal flavors this year are really tempting, particularly this apple pie bar, which mixes dark and white chocolate and studs it with chunks of apple and biscotti. You can order that on its own, or splurge on a care package of three fall flavors (yes, one of them is pumpkin spice) and some Mexican hot chocolate truffles. |
| 2. Thanksgiving Candy Don’t you hate that short window between Halloween and Thanksgiving — when you come down from your candy high and have to wait weeks to gorge yourself on holiday dinner? Don’t you wish you could just combine them? Clearly someone at Brach’s thinks you want this, because they’ve now put Thanksgiving dinner-flavored candy corn on the shelves. The candies allegedly contain all the flavors of a Thanksgiving table, including roasted turkey, green beans and sweet potato pie. |

| | | 1. Notorious RBGThe death of the U.S. Supreme Court's leading liberal light, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, has left many in mourning and in fear of the impending political wrangling to fill her seat. So listening to the measured, soft-spoken RBG herself might be just the ticket to help lift your spirits. Check out these NPR clips in which she addresses retirement, health issues, love and so much more. |
| 2. Kermode and Mayo’s Film Review With the ample amount of time we now have to sit on the couch, who isn’t a film buff? Which is why you should tune into BBC Radio 5’s Kermode and Mayo’s Film Review, a podcast hosted by two of the U.K.’s top film critics. Each week, catch them giving their take on the best and worst films (now mostly streamed), home entertainment recommendations, as well as DVDs of the week. You can either tune in on the BBC website to hear them live on Fridays or listen to it as a podcast on the BBC Sounds app and iTunes store. |
| 3. Tennis Radio Live When it comes to sports coverage, for whatever reason tennis is treated like the awkward stepchild. Even though tennis is really exciting these days, with Naomi Osaka winning her third grand slam last weekend and 16-year-old phenom Coco Gauff currently making a splash at the Italian Open. For the highlights (and analysis behind them), tune into ATP Tennis Radio Live, which gives you live commentary from ATP tour events, interviews with players and a 24/7 live feed in case you just have to get the latest Novak Djokovic gossip at 3 a.m. |
| 4. Hollywood Gore Vidal’s historical novel, published in 1989, is a classic that’s never been available as an audiobook — until recently. Voicing the novel is Grover Gardner, not exactly a household name but in fact one of the most prolific (and celebrated) audiobook readers. His rendition of this scandalous 1920s epic about the birth of the movie business is … what’s the audio equivalent of a page-turner? |
| 5. The Carlos Watson ShowWondering what happens behind the scenes of The Carlos Watson Show? What made Carlos and Karamo unable to stop laughing? What wild statement was edited out of the interview with Sean Spicer? The Carlos Watson Show podcast has the full, extended interviews from the show. Listen now. |

| | | 1. Outdoor Theater Setting up a socially distanced theater in your backyard is actually not as hard as you might think. Yes, it’s an investment, but for around $200 you can make the most of the crisp fall nights. This home theater projector, for example, is portable, has a built-in speaker and costs $100. Janelle Monáe’s new horror-thriller Antebellumis set for release on demand this week, so there’s your entertainment. Then, if you really want to get fancy, this portable projection screen is perfect for a makeshift drive-in. Invite some friends over, sit in your cars and enjoy the show. |
| 2. Make Pumpkin Jam This pleasingly orange-tinged recipe combines orange juice, ground cinnamon, pumpkin puree and other goodies that, once heated and mixed together, will produce a yummy fall treat in a mere 10 minutes. Besides, getting in the swing of fall canning will make you feel prepared for whatever else 2020 plans to throw at us. |
| 3. Mix Up a Pitcher of Seasonal SangriaFor a summer drink, it adapts really well to autumn. There’s the caramel apple sangria, which blends white wine with chunks of apples and pear … then adds apple cider and caramel vodka. Or try this spiced-rum-and-red-wine version. Then there’s the cranberry apple rosé sangria, which is an apple, cranberry, cinnamon explosion in your mouth. The point is, we love sangria enough to make it fit any season, and you should too. |
| 4. Tailgate From Home With nearly every sport going on at the same time, the longing to tailgate can get tough for those of us avoiding crowds. But just because the stadium is off-limits doesn’t mean you can’t tailgate in your own car at home. Stock up on your favorite tailgating food, which — from wings to spinach dip — is easy enough to prepare for your small bubble of masked friends. But the key is the setup: Cornhole, ladder golf and horseshoes are fun and easy games to get your hands on. Then set up a mini bar (on any flat surface you have) and have the game streaming — it’ll feel just like the real thing. |

| | | 1. Glove YaHygienic and stylish. Early ’60s-style opera gloves have made a return to fashion (and yes, men can wear them too — live a little). From pop megastar Ariana Grande and actress Blake Lively to Rihanna and Lizzo, the women of our era have tapped into their inner Jacqueline Kennedy, and it’s best that you protect yourself from germs and tap in too. |
| 2. Why Don’t Cha Denim? We all remember when Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears sported the Canadian tuxedo (denim top, denim bottom for the uninitiated) at the 2001 American Music Awards. Now the pandemic has freed everyone from shame and the double denim is back. If you’re feeling particularly spicy, you could even make it a triple or quadruple denim with accessories. We don’t judge. |
