When "South Florida luxury" comes to mind, you might first think of places like Miami, or Palm Beach. But what about Fort Lauderdale? While it might not be at the top of your list, the Florida beach town is catching up to its flashier neighbors, as a slew of new developments helps reinvent its image from spring break hot spot into high-end destination. Of course, there is that pesky housing slowdown to think about. Will it slow Fort Lauderdale's growth? Can northern transplants and remote workers soften the blow? Only time will tell.
