Wurst Biergarten property for sale, but it will reopen

Welcome to the another edition of the Acadiana Business Newsletter. Let's just get to the headlines.

Downtown Lafayette's Wurst Biergarten, which has been closed since October and is currently undergoing about $40,000 in renovations, could be replaced with a boutique hotel, luxury apartments or a mixed-use development in the coming years.

That's the vision real estate agent Bobbi Pearce Comeaux and property owner Robert Guercio have for the 6,720-square-foot Jefferson Street location, which will be listed for sale in mid-May. But until an investor makes a move, the space will reopen as Acadiana Beer Garden under the management of Guercio and his wife, Angela.
