Futuristic Babypods!

I can only hope that we don’t destroy the earth to an extent that would render air unbreathable, but it seems like it’s an approaching reality. The Air Baby-car is a conceptual baby pram that creates a protective pod around the baby, while allowing the left and right wheels to be inlets and outlets for air respectively. The Air Baby-carriage houses an air purifying unit that gets working on the air that enters through the inlet, so the air your baby breathes is free of contaminants… something that is essential for little children, given how low their immunity is at that age. Not only does the air entering teh pram get purified, the air exiting the outlet is purified too, so that the parent in turn breathes uncontaminated air! Who thought one pram could play such a large role in a family’s well-being?!

Say you’ve got a small yard but it’s not quite large enough for a full size lawnmower… you’re pretty much confined to using a string trimmer but then you’ve gotta deal with all the clippings! The Brushmaster is an intermediate solution that combines a cutting system with a vacuum motor to both clip and clean up your lawn. Wireless and rechargeable with a dedicated dock, users can hand groom their grass in a similar fashion to a dustbuster vacuum! When you’re finished, simply press the quick-release button to easily dispose of yard clippings.

A Lamp You’ll Want to Cuddle

Posted: 26 Jul 2016 06:14 AM PDT

When you use the word ‘soft’ with the word ‘light’ it usually means that the light’s intensity is soft. However the SolarPuff is a different type of soft light. The lighting device is literally soft! Made out of a fabric that allows the light to flexibly expand like a balloon (with a puff of air), the Solight SolarPuff is a green, reliable source of clean light, meant for developing countries and societies. Eliminating the need for kerosene or other oil based lamps, the LED powered SolarPuff ‘breathes a fresh breath of air’ into home lighting by not just making efficient use of a renewable energy resource, but being an interactive and fun product! The specially engineered fabric is durable, flexible, and water-resistant, while the shape of SolarPuff is unusually pleasing to inflate or deflate! When deflated, it becomes just 6mm thick, allowing you to stow it away for later usage. Plus, wouldn’t you want to own a lamp you could use as a aura-emanating stress ball?!

Autonomous Ships of the Future

Posted: 26 Jul 2016 12:00 AM PDT

algoritmi

Autonomous vehicles are now a reality on land, and the next natural step is to take to the sea! The Algoritmi concept explores this possibility for cargo carrying vessels.

Complete autonomy is made possible by an intricate technology combination that includes on-board supercomputer system architecture with AI for auto management and control, ultrasound and laser sensors, radars and anti-collision systems, as well as 360° cameras, satellite and GPS navigation systems. These technologies will be able to make the vessel full autonomous with an unlimited range of operations

Measuring in at 800 meters, the massive ship is powered by a compact atomic fusion reactor capable of producing 400 megawatts of energy to drive a turbine. Enough to get across entire seas in a clean safe way at 40 knots.

You don’t need to be an Axe-pert!

Not many people are experts with hatchets. The Hound from Game of Thrones makes it look really easy to tear through timber using an axe, but I’ll be honest, I’ve got the upper body strength of a cheap mannequin. Moreover, it’s important to know how to use an axe too. After all, you don’t want to be blindly swinging such a deadly weapon! The Tomahawk Hawkaxe is designed to not just be efficient, but also promote the correct style of using the axe. Its hollow blade area makes it unbelievably light, which means you need to hold the axe near the blade to exert force, because there isn’t much momentum with an axe this light. This little hack actually gets us to operate the axe the right way!

The axe also comes with a hammer-head on the back, making it a multi-tool. The hammer adds some much needed weight to the blade area, making sure the contraption isn’t too light. The design is inspired by its namesake, the Hawk. The blade resembles the hawk’s raptorial beak, giving it a unique cut-away shape at the bottom that makes it easy for the hand to hold onto the axe right behind the blade to ensure and enhance accuracy. What a wonderfully coincidental bit of bio-mimicry, eh?? 💡
