Power Under Water!

Look at the snorkel design and you’ll realize one thing. There’s just one pipe that serves as an inlet as well as outlet. In most situations this wouldn’t be a problem, but in high-performance sports you’d face one nagging problem. A combined inlet-outlet means that there’s always residual air in the tube, and after a few breaths, you end up breathing primarily residual exhaled air. This air is CO2 rich and deficient in Oxygen, causing fatigue, and a lowered performance. The Ameo Powerbreather ditches the old design for something radically effective. First off, it provides a single path for air. Air intake take place through the tube. All exhaled air is expelled into the water, so you’re not breathing recycled air. To make the Powerbreather even better, the design incorporates two inlet tubes instead of one, allowing you to breathe faster. The tubes travel around the side of the head, so they don’t obstruct your vision. The inlets also prevent water seepage, allowing seasoned swimmers to even perform flips while swimming. A lock at the back ensures the Powerbreather stays strapped to your head comfortably yet securely. What say, water-freaks??

The Sweet Spot Between Snorkel and Scuba

Posted: 29 Jun 2016 04:15 AM PDT

Even if you’ve mastered the “duck dive”, that average snorkel’s major limitation is that you can’t stay deep for very long to experience what’s underwater. Until now! STEPDive is a revolutionary design that allows users to stay many feet under the water as long as they’d like without coming up for air. The system uses a floating buoy in which hoses attached to the snorkel are tethered. Divers using STEPDive can go as deep as the hose allows and stay there to explore! Better yet, multiple users can tether to the buoy so you and friends or loved ones can experience underwater together. Intuitive to use and even easier to tote around, it’s a great first step toward true scuba diving!

Segment is a simple, compact, mirrorless camera for the modern user. The design earns its namesake from a segment of the body that has been removed, as if it’s been cut away, to make room for the physical controls nested into this cavity. This not only protects the controls but allows the user easy access. Wrapped in genuine leather and sporting a nostalgic, vintage aesthetic interpreted in a contemporary manner, it’s sure to win the hearts of point-and-shoot photographers everywhere!

A Banger Washing Machine + Hanger

The Samsung Hanger Washing Machine just completes the entire washing process with an additional step. Spinning doesn’t get rid of all the water, and hanging the clothes in the sun is something everyone is forced to do. The Samsung Hanger WM (short for washing machine!) integrates a powerful air-blower into the machine’s design. One simply hangs the clothes underneath the wall-mounted appliance and the hot wind blows the moisture out of the clothing. Its additional benefit is that it instantly de-creases the clothes, meaning you don’t have to iron them. You also have the benefit of adding a fragrance to the hot air, so that your clothes don’t just look fresh, they smell fresh too. The Samsung Hanger WM literally takes care of your clothes from laundry-bag back to the closet! Now isn’t that a dream come true?!

For Picture-Perfect Toast!

If you look at a camera’s proportions, they’re really similar to the proportions of a toaster, sans the lens of course. Using that observation to their advantage, designers Hyunmook Lim and PDF Design decided to pull an old switcheroo on Leica’s product portfolio by introducing a Leica toaster. Even without the latge circular lens, the toaster looks strangely camera-ish, and definitely Leica-ish. The flat geometric surfaces along with the choice of color and finish make it fit well into the German camera-maker’s portfolio. The simple circular red logo on the side acts like a perfect punctuation to complete the design’s visual grammar.
