Low-res Never Looked So Good!

Hi-def in sound and low-res in construction, Resonance speakers are an exploration into the FDM 3d printing process. The process has historically been limited to rough prototyping. In fact, most designers find the blocky, layered appearance of fused deposition modeling unappealing for a final product. Resonance, however, takes advantage of the “low-res” look of FDM printing by using it in an unexpected way.

The Speaker forms are printed in wood PLA on an UP box printer and then a resin-plaster mix is poured inside. The result: a perfectly imperfect speaker set with the visual and tactile qualities associated with desktop 3d printing. Chips in the plaster, stained areas that indicate higher concentrations of resin, as well as unique seams that creep up each of the speakers are just some of the character-giving fingerprints left over from the 3d printing process.

When Retina and Retro Combine!

It’s lovely when new products pay homage to their predecessors. Take for instance the Elago W3 watch dock that makes the Apple watch look like a miniature Macintosh. There’s something both old and new about it, therefore appealing to our excitement for the future and its capabilities, as well as our love for the past, aka nostalgia. The Retroduck phone stand works on the same principle too, creating an unusually beautiful vintage CRT (cathode ray tube) inspired television out of your phone!

The Retroduck stand does something rather noteworthy. Phones are light, portable, and have a reputation of being multi-tasking devices. Televisions on the other hand are the exact opposite. When you dock your phone into the Retroduck, your perception of your phone instantly changes to that of a television, therefore allowing you to watch content on your phone’s screen with much more attention… as you would with a TV (rather than switching between apps, checking your social media, etc). The Retroduck works as a rather neat multimedia dock, with its beautiful vintage inspired design (even built with dummy controls and antennae!). Its thick/hollow design helps channel sound better, allowing sound from your phone’s speakers to resonate within the empty space, effectively making it louder/punchier, while evenly channeling the sound through both the front as well as the back of the dock.

Retroduck comes with a cute pair of legs to make the dock stand on a raised platform. The dock can however be used without the legs too. The dock also serves as a charging hub for the phone, allowing you to slip your lightning cable inside it, so when you slide your phone in, it instantly begins charging. The dock (or duck?) comes in three color variants, ranging from a vintage brown, to a minimalist white/grey, to the deliciously iconic orange! Built for iPhones 6 and up, the dock comes in two sizes to accommodate the regular and plus sized variants.

Retroduck is a beautiful and useful dock for any home. Even with its small size, it’s capable of becoming a center-point of attraction. The dock is perfect for people who want to watch TV content on their phone (Netflix and retro-chill!) while the Retroduck works wonders as an alarm too, with its sound amplifying capabilities. Blowout and Inhale

This design aims to help you smell as delicious as you’ll look after using it! It’s called the Delicious Dryer and while it’s colored like cotton candy, you shouldn’t try tasting it. You can, however, fill it with a scent cartridge of your choosing! As you blow-dry your hair, it will lightly disperse your favorite scent, leaving you feeling fresh and clean!

Refill after opening the handle. You can refill easily when you consume all the essences or want to change into a different scent.

It is an Detachable type charger. When drying, the wire is not twisted, which makes it easy to use.

Entrance of the dryer is separated, so it can insert while changing the direction by each user.
