These super small buds pack a powerful punch but only have a footprint slightly larger than a button. Unlike other cases, this one features a built-in USB plug so you can charge everywhere from work to the car without an extra cable. With a dial that’s a stunningly massive 49mm in diameter and 17mm thick, the watch isn’t for scrawny wrists. It’s an indication of raw power and authority. Waterproof up to 300 meters, the Energia Professional Dive Automatic comes in an aqua-friendly color scheme and features an a design to match. A stand-out feature is its rather unique lug shape that looks almost like teeth, interlocking with the leather band to create a detail so striking, it’s probably the first thing I noticed and fell in love with in the first place. | Posted: 17 Oct 2017 04:47 AM PDT The past month has seen the release of a range of fascinating autonomous vehicles, but none of them are more excitable as the GM Silent Utility Rover Universal Superstructure (Surus) Autonomous Truck. I’ll give you a minute to wrap your head around that mouthful of a name…Ok, so as the name would suggest, this truck doesn’t require a driver thanks to the autonomous functionality, so in-turn, the Surus also doesn’t need a cabin. Surus uses two electrical drive units, transforming this into a four-wheel drive truck. Using GM’s Generation 2 Hydrogen Fuel Cell System, Surus boasts a capability of running more than 400 miles of range. The Hydrogen Fuel Cell System is where Surus gets the ‘silent’ part from. The benefits of hydrotec include a silent and odor-free operation. The ‘platform’ as it’s being called, has a vast amount of applications ranging from cargo delivery, commercial freight with an emphasis on disaster relief. Surus has been released as somewhat of a snippet to show everyone what GM holds in store for the future – having made plans to introduce 20 all-electric passenger vehicles by 2023. | Bluetooth Never Looked So Beautiful Posted: 17 Oct 2017 12:02 AM PDT Based on the infamous yet utilitarian Sennheiser HD25 headphones, Element Headphones are a modern take on the classic with a masculine material combination and state-of-the-art tech. Outside, they’re clad in three distinct finishes: distressed copper, damascus steel and oxidized titanium. Distressed copper gives the headphones a depth and warmth which ages and transforms over time. Damascus steel embodies an ancient metal folding technique whereby hundreds of layers of steel are forged together. Finally, oxidized titanium is simple but beautiful – when titanium is exposed to heat or current, the surface oxides into a permanent blue/purple iridescent hue. Not just nice to look at, these compact cans sport a small footprint but deliver big sound. They’re also packed with features like wireless connectivity and gesture touch-control. This creates a ball and socket interface between the cups and the band, allowing a degree rotational movement to help the headphones fit better. |
| Type 1 or 2, This is Type Cool Posted: 16 Oct 2017 08:40 PM PDT Medical devices are often generic looking, boxy edged products with poor material finishes and a string of afterthoughts. This can make sense due to the limited number of batches produced yearly, margins, visibility of product etc. That’s why it’s so nice to see the complete rebranding and stunning redesign of the Arkray glucometer. In 2012, Kenya Hara (former director of Muji) asked Yeongkyu Yoo (founder of cloudandco) to redesign the Arkray glucometer to match the brand vision and UI design language set in place by Kenya Hara, and after much anticipation, here it is. Yoo did this in spectacular fashion, with what can only be described as a positively gorgeous upgrade – the glucometer has a somewhat pebble shape to it, fitting softly into the hand. The interface is located on the front of the device, large enough to be seen clearly but not too large as to be obstructed by the user’s hand while holding the device. The glucometer is covered in a powder coated ABS material, soft to the touch, with very simple branding located below the screen and towards the bottom of the device. The interaction points on the rear of the device are very straightforward and elegant, making this product a strong foot forward in the innovation and rejuvenation of medical devices. | The most enchanting thing in your kitchen Posted: 16 Oct 2017 04:16 PM PDT Aside from having what I believe is the most clever product name possible, the Oiladdin is appropriate in absolutely every way, because it takes inspiration from the oil lamps used back in the olden days, and uses it as a snout/pourer for an oil bottle! (Side note, I just realized it’s a combination of the words Oil+Add+In and I’m honestly shook) Made entirely out of silicone and with the signature yellow that one would instantly associate with the Disney animated classic (now up for a live-action remake), the Oiladdin allows you to easily pour oil onto your dishes in a small, controlled stream. It even prevents dripping, given its snout shaped opening. The soft construction allows it to securely fit into almost all glass bottles, while the upper part of the lamp can be pressed down to even shut the bottle, preventing oil from spilling everywhere if knocked over. Now who wouldn’t want something so beautiful, functional, nostalgic, and playful in their kitchen?! It’s a shame this one doesn’t grant wishes though. Designer: Peleg Design BUY NOWBUY NOW |
| Posted: 16 Oct 2017 02:30 PM PDT Sitting obediently, like a watchful owl above your iMac, the Grph Light wonderfully illuminates your immediate workspace with a wash of warm light, almost like a soft spotlight above your keyboard. Since Apple’s external keyboards come without a backlight, and the mouse doesn’t really illuminate, the Grph adds a touch of functionality, allowing you to work in the dark. The Grph hooks to your machine via USB, giving you light without hogging a plug-point. It rests with sheer ease on the top of your iMac and can slide left or right, depending on where you want to shine light, i.e., depending on whether you’re right-handed or left-handed. A simple button on the top allows you to toggle the 6 LEDs on the inside that provide 100 Lumens of light. The Grph comes in a wooden body which some may love, but our only criticism is not having an anodized Aluminum variant to match the iMac’s style! Designer: Massess |
