Dear Yogi, If you’ve been practising yoga for a while, you’ll know that it goes far beyond the physical. While yoga offers us a way to get stronger, healthier and more flexible, it’s essentially a tool for self-realisation, or connecting with our true self.
In fact ‘Asana’ in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, is not a reference to Headstand, Warrior II, or indeed any other yoga pose. It’s about the position you choose to sit in while meditating – your ‘seat’.
‘Asana’ is only one of the 8 limbs of yoga, each of which offers guidance on how to live a meaningful and purposeful life.
