Sustainable and innovative Rotaract projects earn top honors

Rotaract clubs around the world are creating lasting, positive change. Their service projects are changing lives and communities for good. This year, over 300 projects were nominated in 52 countries for the Rotaract Outstanding Project Awards. Rotary recognizes the best local or international service project that highlight innovation, sustainability, and collaboration aligned with Rotary’s areas of focus.

This year the Rotaract Club of the Univeristy of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka took tops honors for their comprehensive project to revive the rural village of Ranugalla through education and economic development initiatives. "Rather than initiating a project to donate materials, we thought a project to address all the issues in the village would be much more beneficial to all,” says Chamal Kuruppu, the club’s president.
