🎙️Coming up on Morning Edition: A former Minnesota Republican Party operative and top donor will find out how much time he’ll spend in federal prison later this morning. A jury convicted 32-year-old Tony Lazzaro of bringing five teenage girls to his luxury apartment in downtown Minneapolis and paying them for sex. Reporter Matt Sepic covered Lazzaro’s trial, and joins us live this morning to tell us what to expect from the sentencing hearing.

All aboard the Flotsam! Ragtag circus floats on a Mississippi River adventure

The group of musicians, comedians and actors created a spectacle from found objects and handmade things, bringing to life a post-apocalyptic world maimed by climate change and the takeover of invasive mutant fish. 

Over the course of about a month, they'll wind their watery way down to St. Louis, Mo., stopping at towns along the way. The Flotsam River Circus performs in Lake City, Minn., Wednesday at 6 p.m.  
 
What else we're watching:
Former GOP operative, donor faces sentencing on sex trafficking charges. A jury in March found Anton “Tony” Lazzaro, 32, guilty of paying five teenage girls for sex, in violation of federal sex trafficking laws. Prosecutors are asking Judge Patrick Schiltz to impose a 30-year sentence.

Proposal to boost rideshare driver pay moves forward in Minneapolis. Members of the Minneapolis City Council are considering a measure designed to increase wages and improve working conditions for Uber and Lyft drivers in the city. Around two dozen people — many of them drivers — signed up to speak during a public hearing held in city council chambers Tuesday afternoon. 

Minnesota wildland firefighters help stop Canada's wildfires, here's one on what she's seen. Lori Barrow is a forester with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and joined Minnesota Now after spending 18 days working to fight wildfires in Canada.

The challenge, and opportunity, of 'getting to green' in Minnesota. Margaret Cherne-Hendrick is the senior lead for innovation and impact at Fresh Energy, a St. Paul-based clean energy nonprofit working to identify equitable, decarbonization strategies that advance the clean energy economy. She spoke to MPR News’ Dan Kraker about her work and the challenges — and opportunities — of “getting to green” in Minnesota.
