Minnesota returns voting power to thousands. The question is whether they'll use it

A new law in Minnesota speeds up restoration of voting eligibility to the formerly incarcerated. Now advocates are fanning out to convince people to use those rights.

The law change in Minnesota is estimated to affect more than 55,000 people still serving some stage of a sentence outside a jail or prison wall.

St. Paul City Council apologizes for reparations commission hiring process. City officials also apologized for the negative scrutiny brought upon the hire, who "has also been deeply affected by this situation."

Simone Biles wins a record eighth U.S. gymnastics title a full decade after her first. Biles, now a 26-year-old newlywed considered perhaps the greatest of all time, posted an all-around two-day total of 118.40, four points clear of runner-up Shilese Jones.

Minneapolis police search for man accused of trying to run over officer. Minneapolis police are still searching for a 27-year-old man connected to a traffic stop on Saturday that injured one police officer.
