After the Twin Cities Marathon and TC 10 mile races were canceled due to record warmth over the weekend, the above-normal temperatures continue Monday and Tuesday. A cold front will touch off storms Tuesday night with much cooler air behind it. But for Monday, look for sunny skies with highs in the mid-80s. Get the latest weather news on Updraft.

🎧 Coming up on Morning Edition: Thousands of would-be runners woke up to a stunning email Sunday morning — the Twin Cities Marathon and TC 10 mile races were canceled due to record-setting heat. Reporter Ellie Roth spoke to disappointed runners and a doctor who says organizers made the right call.

Grief shadows families after Roseville murder-suicide

One of the people killed in what investigators are calling a murder-suicide in Roseville will be laid to rest on Monday. Fong Vang, 32, died after an “unprovoked” attack on Sept. 23 by friend Meng Vang, according to Roseville police. John Thao, 32, was also killed.

Survivors of Native American boarding schools honored during ceremony. The Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition honored survivors and generations of children who did not return home to their families on Friday evening in Minneapolis.

Twin Cities Marathon, TC 10 Mile canceled amid forecast for record-setting heat. In emails sent to thousands of race participants and the media just after 5:30 a.m. Sunday, race officials said the predicted temperatures “do not allow a safe event for runners, supporters and volunteers.”

Grounds crew preps Target Field for first Twins' postseason games. On Sunday afternoon, the Twins grounds crew worked from morning to midday to hand paint the postseason logo in preparation for the first postseason Twins game.
