'Power to the people': Efforts to ensure equitable clean energy transition

For the past decade, Jamez Staples has worked to bring the benefits of solar energy to north Minneapolis, the tight-knit community where he grew up. He says for too long it’s been a community overlooked.

He started a company called Renewable Energy Partners installing solar arrays around the city, including more than 900 panels on the roof of North Community High School scheduled to be connected to the electric grid later this fall.

'Many points of intervention': Behind the data on intimate partner violence in Minnesota. MPR News host Cathy Wurzer talked with Joe Shannon of Violence Free Minnesota to find out what the numbers in a new report say about how to prevent these crimes.

A nationwide emergency alert test is coming to your phone on Wednesday. The test messages will be sent to all cellphones, televisions and radios. The test will emit sound and — on phones — vibration.

MLB playoffs guide: Openers Tuesday at Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Milwaukee and Philadelphia. The best-of-three wild card format is in its second season. The format was changed in 2022 from the sudden death one-game format that was in place since 2012.

Here's the story of the portrait behind Ruth Bader Ginsburg's postage stamp. "It's like you feel a presence in the photograph," says Philip Bermingham. The striking image he captured became the U.S. Postal Service's reference for the new stamp.
