There will be scattered showers in northern Minnesota throughout much of Monday, mostly in the form of rain, but later in the day some showers will turn to snow in northeast Minnesota. Get the latest weather news on Updraft.

Tuesday is Election Day in Minnesota. And while it’s an off-year for most races, there are cities and school districts holding elections for positions in local governments. We've got the answers to many of your frequently asked questions regarding voting on Nov. 7.

 
Meet the three candidates in Minneapolis seeking the open seat in ward 12

The departure of a swing vote on the Minneapolis City Council opens up a seat that could help bring about changes in how the council works. Candidates Aurin Chowdhury, Luther Ranheim and Nancy Ford are vying for the Ward 12 seat left open by the departure of Council Member Andrew Johnson — who has represented the ward located in the eastern corner of south Minneapolis since 2014.

 
Dean Phillips’ presidential bid could put Minnesota’s 3rd District in play

Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips’ announcement that he would challenge President Joe Biden opens the field for other prospective candidates looking to get to Congress. Phillips has so far sidestepped questions about whether he would run for re-election if his presidential bid fails.
 
What else we're watching:
Metro Transit to study fare enforcement barriers for light rail stations. Metro Transit is studying whether to add fare enforcement measures at its light rail stations. It's part of the agency's ongoing effort to improve safety and reduce crime on Twin Cities light rail.

Event encourages more Minnesotans to adopt. The Minnesota Department Of Human Services hosted its 26th annual Circus Of The Heart event at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Hundreds of blended families participated in games and art activities. DHS also held a presentation for adults interested in learning more about the adoption and kinship care process.

Dobbs shines with 2 TD passes, 1 scoring run, as Vikings rally to beat Falcons 31-28. Joshua Dobbs threw two touchdown passes, including a go-ahead 6-yarder to Brandon Powell with 22 seconds remaining, and also ran for a score and the Minnesota Vikings rallied to beat the Atlanta Falcons 31-28 on Sunday for their fourth straight win.

Rare St. John's Bible editions headed to England. It’s been 25 years since St. John’s Abbey and University in Collegeville, Minn., commissioned the first handwritten, hand-illuminated Bible since the invention of the printing press. Now, rare copies of the Bible will be presented to three institutions in the Church of England.

A meteor shower could send fireballs streaking through the night sky this week. The Southern Taurids meteor shower has been active since September and is set to reach its peak activity this week.
