Temperatures are quickly warming up for the rest of the week right into the Christmas holiday. Highs will be mostly in the 30s Tuesday — above normal by nearly 10 degrees. It’ll be warmer this weekend with rain and snow possible. Get the latest weather news on Updraft. Coming up on Morning Edition: A controversial encampment in Minneapolis is expected to close, but the city has declined for now to say when. Dozens of people have been living at Camp Nenookaasi in the East Phillips neighborhood, but some are concerned about safety there. City officials had said they would clear the encampment today, but late last week postponed that move. MPR News reporter Melissa Olson will fill us in on the latest.

| | Almost done: New Minnesota flag gets its final touch-ups today before becoming official
| The State Emblems Redesign Commission is set to make its final edits to a new state flag. The banner will go up in May unless lawmakers intervene. The working flag design includes a K-shaped figure that resembles Minnesota on the left side, with an eight-point star inside. Horizontal stripes run to the right in light blue, white and green — though the color palette and the number and thickness of stripes could change. | |
