Cooler temperatures return for the start of February. Highs in the 30s north and 40s south will still be much warmer than normal. We remain in a race with the warmest winter on record from 1877-78. Providing kids the chance to explore the outdoors, listen to the sounds of nature and take a dip in a lake had been a high priority for the Phyllis Wheatley Community Center. It began summer camp programs in 1932. The mission of “the Wheatley,” as many refer to the center, has always been service to the community.
And this year, the Phyllis Wheatley Community Center is turning 100 years old and celebrating a century of its mission. | |

Rainbow Wardrobe is a simple concept. It’s your classic fashion television show. She is the host curating the look. The customer is the contestant, and at the end they get to keep everything for free.
Supporters say it’s an important need to fill as Minnesota’s status as a trans refuge for health care draws more people to the state. Loch says more than half of Rainbow Wardrobe’s visitors are new residents who moved to Minnesota due to the transgender protections passed last year by the Legislature. | |
