Coming up at 9 a.m.:  Hear the voices from the first Talking Sense event held in Woodbury on Feb. 27. Participants shared how political division has affected their communities and personal lives. The next in-person Talking Sense event is April 24 at the Chateau Theatre in Rochester. It will be open to students and members of the community.  
 
Minneapolis rideshare drivers navigate future as Uber, Lyft exit approaches

One of those drivers is Farhan Badel. His work helps him support his wife and three children, and has allowed him the freedom to be able to choose his hours to better juggle life and work. Now, emerging rideshare apps are exploring ways to step in while drivers prepare for the potential changes ahead.

An immigrant from Afghanistan, Murid Amini has a background in software development and corporate strategy. He has been working around the clock since early March developing a rideshare app called MOOV. The difference: Amini said drivers would earn a larger portion of the fare.

“My goal is to say, you can’t bully an entire metro area and risk people’s livelihoods and their ability to commute just because you have an app. And it’s not super difficult to build an app,” he said.
 
What to know about the Minnesota Twins home opener vs. Cleveland Guardians

The first pitch is scheduled for 3:10 p.m. Thursday at Target Field. Last year, the Twins secured their first postseason win since 2004 and their first playoff series win since 2002.

For many Minnesota women, postpartum depression’s grip is real — but care can be elusive

Depression, anxiety and other mental health issues are the most common complications during and after pregnancy, affecting an estimated 1 in 5 women. Helping new mothers navigate depression is critical, though societal attitudes can be slow to shift.

“It can be almost like suffocating,” said Cassidy Romaine, 35, “It’s like, now this human being is depending on you. That’s a lot of weight, and it can be heavy, and it can be hard and it can be lonely no matter who’s around, or what help you have.”
