We’ll have sunshine much of the day and warmer temperatures Wednesday. We will see highs well into the 60s across much of Minnesota, with some spots near 70 in southern Minnesota. Spotty showers will develop west and north later in the day. Get the latest weather news on Updraft. Coming up on Morning Edition: It's been nearly four years since George Floyd died at the hands of Minneapolis police officers. Right now, the city is figuring out a rebuilding plan for the 3rd Precinct building that burned down during the riots and protests that followed Floyd's murder. And just recently, the city released documents showing at least a dozen officers were disciplined for misconduct during that time. Host Cathy Wurzer talks to the Minnesota Reformer journalist Deena Winter, who took a deep dive into that data. Coming up at 9 a.m.: The number of adults who identify as autistic is growing — and so is awareness. It now affects just over 2 percent of adults in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control. MPR News host Angela Davis talks about what’s it like to move into adulthood with autism. | |

| | Xcel Energy hopes charging more for electricity during peak hours will encourage customers to shift energy use | Running the air conditioner on hot summer afternoons or starting a load of laundry after dinner could get more expensive for Xcel Energy’s residential customers in Minnesota. If state regulators approve Xcel’s plan, the state’s largest electric utility would charge variable electric rates at different times. Rates would be highest during the peak period from 3 to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and cheapest every night from midnight to 6 a.m. Other hours would be a base rate. | |

| | Love and joy at 534 St. Peter Street: A building reveals hidden art — and an artist | The windows are shrouded in white curtains and blinds and always pulled shut. Nudged in front of the curtains is a large painting of the Mississippi. On the sidewalk are two bleach-white Roman statues on plinths. They look like something out of Caesar’s Palace. Approaching on the sidewalk, Johnson Art has no “Open” or “Closed” sign, nor a discernible entrance. I found a gap in the blinds and peered in — and a pair of eyes looked back. | |
