Minnesota lawmakers return to St. Paul this week. Catch up on where top issues stand

With a little more than a month left in the legislative session, lawmakers have approved and the governor has signed 23 bills into law. More than 1,000 Minnesotans told MPR News what they hope lawmakers will accomplish and what they want done with the state’s projected $17.5 billion surplus.

What else we're watching:
Technology concerns force Monday shutdown of Rochester public schools. The district discovered what it calls "irregular activity" Thursday. Classes are canceled Monday while the district investigates.

2 Wisconsin police officers killed in traffic stop shooting. The Wisconsin Department of Justice says it is investigating the shooting Saturday afternoon in Cameron, Wis.

Gophers fall to Qunnipiac in OT at NCAA Frozen Four Championship. The five-time national champion Gophers (29-9-1) sought their first title since 2003 against Quinnipiac on Saturday in Tampa, Fla.

Ilhan Omar embarks on new path no longer defined by "firsts." Democratic Rep. Omar is now in her third term and she's no longer defined by the “firsts” that accompanied her arrival in Congress.

Law enforcement refocuses search for missing Winona woman. Winona Police said Saturday that there won’t be a third day of a large, organized search for Madeline “Maddi” Kingsbury, as law enforcement will now focus their efforts on targeted searches going forward.
