The big focus of the week’s weather is Tuesday, when a potent upper-level disturbance and deepening surface low will combine to create a large area of significant rainfall for much of Minnesota. In chaotic close, Minnesota lawmakers fail to pass projects bill, equal rights amendment

The Minnesota Legislature stumbled toward a tumultuous end late Sunday night in a chorus of shouting and snap votes in a final day sure to damage the ability of the parties to work in concert in the future.

Lawmakers wrapped up their last day of voting without approving a substantial borrowing plan to pay for construction projects or one to put an equal rights amendment before voters. The House will reconvene Monday for retirement speeches and other formalities before breaking for the year.
 
Timberwolves beat Denver 98-90, head to Western Conference Finals

Anthony Edwards overcame a slow start and the Timberwolves roared back from a 20-point second-half deficit to eliminate the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets 98-90 in a Game 7 Minnesota masterpiece on Sunday night.

The Timberwolves overcame a 15-point halftime deficit — the largest comeback in a Game 7 in NBA playoff history — behind Edwards, who had just four points, no rebounds and three assists at halftime but finished with 16 points, eight boards and seven assists.
 
Timberwolves fans go on a wild Game 7 ride to advance in playoffs

The first half of the game played out mostly in ways that put Wolves fans on edge. Then in the third quarter, Minnesota went on a 21 to 3 scoring run, getting within striking distance of the Nuggets.

"Being a lifelong Minnesota sports fan, you got to feel a little bit nervous," said Cody Freese. "But hey, it's do or die. You got Anthony Edwards — Ant man — on your side and Naz Reid. At the end of the day. It's gonna be a heck of a game."

Trolls in the northern Minnesota woods with a messageA Danish artist is building a whimsical installation of large trolls near Detroit Lakes, with a serious message for humans.

Two canoeists are missing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Two canoes went over a waterfall on Saturday evening between two large lakes along the Canadian border. 

Boston tops Minnesota with 4-3 win in first game of PWHL championship series. It was the fourth straight playoff win by one goal for third-seeded Boston. The best-of-five series continues Tuesday.

UMD Tweed Museum of Art announces new director. University of Minnesota Duluth has named Julie Delliquanti as the director of the Tweed Museum of Art. She will begin the role June 10.

Iran President Ebrahim Raisi, supreme leader's protégé, dies at 63 in helicopter crash. Raisi's sudden death, along with Iran's foreign minister and other officials in the helicopter crash Sunday in northwestern Iran, came as Iran struggles with internal dissent and its relations with the wider world.
