🤸🏾‍♀️ The Olympics are next month in Paris and trials are underway to determine who'll represent Team USA. This weekend in Minneapolis, hopeful gymnasts are competing to be among the five men and five women who will go for gold in the Summer Games. Among the competitors is Suni Lee of Minnesota. Peter Cox has the story.

⚖️ Five people are facing charges for allegedly trying to bribe a juror in the Feeding Our Future trial earlier this month. Three of the suspects were defendants in that trial, and investigators say the group recruited a Seattle woman to drop off a gift bag full of cash at the juror’s home. Matt Sepic reports.

Family that lost home to flooded river vows to keep store open as floodwaters devastate Midwest

A family that watched their home collapse into a flooded river near an at risk Minnesota dam is vowing to reopen their nearby store to sell its homemade pie and burgers as soon as its safe to do so.

That home's disappearance into the river and the hundreds of flood-damaged or destroyed homes elsewhere in the upper Midwest are among the first property casualties of extreme weather gripping the region as floodwaters move south.
 
Marshall Pride provides a cathartic homecoming for small town drag performers

Drag shows are now a staple of the entertainment scene in the Twin Cities and other larger Minnesota towns. Some of the performers grew up in rural Minnesota. Some of those small towns host drag shows of their own, and these performers are taking the opportunity for a cathartic homecoming.

“People come to the drag show [and] they’ve never been to one,” Rachel Johnson said. “They learned all kinds of different things, like how to respect pronouns, plenty of things that are important, right? And they learn and they grow, and then they take that to their workplace and that just expands.”
 
Biden and Trump go head to head: How to watch the first general election presidential debate

Not only is it the first-ever matchup between a sitting president and a former one, but it’s also the first debate for either candidate in this year’s election. The setting is CNN’s studios in Atlanta. Unlike the Republican primary debates, no audience will be present.

📺 Retiring broadcaster Randy Shaver reflects on 40 years of Twin Cities television. After four decades in Twin Cities television news, Randy Shaver is retiring from KARE-11 TV. His on-air goodbye Friday won’t be off the cuff — because he wrote it three months ago. He shared why in an interview with Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer.

🚨 Police: Former romantic partner charged with murder after Minneapolis woman found dead. The body of Liara Tsai was found in the back of a vehicle that crashed in Olmsted County on Saturday. LQBTQ advocacy organization OutFront Minnesota shared a statement about Tsai, saying she was a DJ, producer, crisis counselor and a “beloved member of the trans community in Minnesota."

🎭 Art Hounds: Shakespeare in a sculpture park. Art Hounds discuss “Twelfth Night” at Franconia Sculpture Park, Teatro del Pueblo’s “Love in a Time of Hate” and “The Seeker” at Lake Superior.

🏀 NBA Draft: T-wolves jump in for Dillingham and draft exonerated Shannon. The Minnesota Timberwolves were committed to keeping their core together, coming off a trip to the Western Conference finals and in no position to enhance the roster through free agency or trades.
