🌩️ Strong to severe storms are possible Monday morning across western and central Minnesota. Damaging winds and large hail will be the primary threats. Another round of storms could develop Monday afternoon across eastern Minnesota and into western Wisconsin.

🌞 The rest of the week looks quiet and pleasant, with mostly dry weather and drier air sticking around into the weekend. It should be cooler than last week with highs in the 70s.

What we know about the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump

The attempted assassination of former President Trump is being investigated as Trump prepares to officially accept the Republican party’s presidential nomination at its convention in Milwaukee this week.

President Biden condemned political violence in remarks from the Oval Office on Sunday, and said the attempted assassination of Trump necessitates a cooling down of heated political rhetoric in the country.

Biden has ordered an independent review of the national security measures in place at Trump’s rally, and promised to release the results of that investigation publicly.
 
Republican convention opens after Trump assassination attempt; Minnesota delegate says 'it gave me chills'

Intensive security and appeals for unity are both expected to be heavy components of the Republican National Convention that begins Monday in Milwaukee, just days after an attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump that rattled the nation.

Minnesota sent 39 delegates to the convention, many of whom arrived in a solemn but determined mood after watching Trump with blood on his face and his fist raised as Secret Service agents rushed him off stage after shots were fired Saturday at a Pennsylvania rally.
