Ag exports critical to Minnesota in a changing world

Minnesota's agriculture industry had a record-breaking year for exports last year. The state is a leading producer of many farm commodities like soybeans and corn, and exports to other countries are a key part of the ag economy. A complex web of connections moves those crops around the world. 

“It's going to take a collaboration and cooperation amongst all industries, not just agriculture, to really bring up the Twin Ports to capacity,” aid Charles Wachsmuth.
 
What else we're watching:
Minnesota lawmakers are considering billions in transportation funding. What's in it for transit riders? Both bills would also create a new program to address safety concerns on buses and rail lines in the metro and allocate funding for a passenger train between Duluth and the Twin Cities.

St. Paul police arrest teen in St. Anthony Park fatal shooting. SWAT officers arrested the teen while executing a search warrant at a home on the city's east side. Investigators are still trying to determine what happened in the moments before the shooting.

Welcome back to the Barrio: Teatro del Pueblo hosts live podcast performance. The St. Paul-based theater company Teatro del Pueblo has adapted one of their live shows, “Coco's Barrio,” into a podcast during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have now created a new show, “War of the Worlds REDUX,” set in the same world, which will be performed live and recorded for podcast distribution.

Art Hounds: Memories of France. Art Hounds recommend French-inspired art by Ilene Krug Mojsilov, Spiral Theater's play “West Point Players” and an exhibit by artist Lori Franklin in Duluth.

Advisers to the FDA back first over-the-counter birth control pill. In a unanimous vote, 17-0, a panel of advisers to the Food and Drug Administration recommended that the agency approve the first over-the-counter birth control pill.
