Esports at University of North Dakota are leveling up

The esports season at University of North Dakota is wrapping up for the semester, but teams aren’t slowing down.

Twelve hours a week, teams practice in their brand new, high-tech space — or in sophomore Raneem Kobeissy’s words: “this cool space.”

It’s a big step for North Dakota esports — aka electronic sports or competitive video gaming.
UND formed its competitive league in 2020; last year it launched the state’s first esports bachelor’s degree. Now it’s has its first permanent home.
 
What else we're watching:
Retiring longtime 'Almanac' producer on the show's secret sauce. Brendan Henehan is the brains behind one of the longest-running public affairs shows in the country: “Almanac” on Twin Cities PBS. Before the show fades to black tomorrow night, MPR News host Cathy Wurzer — who also hosts “Almanac”— sat Henehan down for an exit interview. 

A family breaks from tradition to honor sister's life, bring awareness to domestic violence. Local domestic violence organizations the Domestic Abuse Project, Transforming Generations, and the Hmong Family Strengthening Helpline were all present for the event.

New book on Bob Dylan will feature hundreds of rare images. Hundreds of rare photos and other images from the archives of singer-songwriter Bob Dylan will be featured in “Bob Dylan: Mixing Up the Medicine,” coming out this fall.
