| Air quality alerts raise concerns, frustrations about summer activities for kids. With a record-high 23 air quality alerts so far this year in Minnesota, questions of how to safely participate in valued outdoor summer activities linger (along with the smoke). Minnesota schools just got unprecedented funding. Hereās why theyāre still making cuts. Some Minnesota districts are laying off staff, closing schools and enlarging class sizes. A rise in state funding has lessened the need for budget cuts but, in many places, not eliminated them entirely. Art Hounds: Water, shanties and murals. This week, Art Hounds recommend the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, sea shanty singalongs and a festival of murals. 78 people face charges for $2.5 billion in attempted health care fraud, DOJ says.
