AI is so new that it may be hard to recognize if something about it is outdated. That thing isn’t the technology. It’s what is causing the technology’s implementations to fail: Your strategy.

Despite all the hype, AI projects fail at roughly twice the rate of non-AI technology projects, according to RAND. The reason is a lack of alignment, with different departments’ AI producing contradictory content that may not be connected to reality.

Allen Martinez has the solution: Three strategic shifts to end AI chaos. Follow his suggestions and you’re thinking could catch up with your tech.

What they're saying

  • “The failure to implement AI initiatives extends from the top of the funnel to the bottom. Companies can demonstrate AI works in controlled tests, but nearly half of those proofs-of-concept never make it to production due to real-world complexities and scaling challenges.” – Allen Martinez in Your AI strategy is stuck in the past — here’s how to fix it.
  • “If audiences don’t trust AI-generated music, art or writing, they won’t engage with it, no matter how advanced the technology becomes. That could lead to creators and brands hiding their use of AI, risking exposure later, like an artist caught lip-syncing at a live concert.” – Steve Bevilacqua in AI fatigue is real, and it’s costing brands more than engagement.
