Clare encouraged her sisters to recognize the dignity of their calling and the possible far-reaching effects of their actions. Rooted in faith and guided by the lives of Jesus and Francis, they learned about and leaned into a lifestyle of simplicity, humility, and poverty. Clare’s ageless wisdom encourages us to respect each other as unique as well as interdependent members of the human family. We, too, are reminded that our actions bear potential influence on others.
