I’m an avid cyclist who raced competitively in my twenties, but then in 2007 was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disease that forced me to rethink my relationship with food, and led to my first cookbook Hero Food, published in 2012.
Through food, exercise and lifestyle changes, I was able to successfully turn my health around. At the time of my diagnosis I thought rheumatoid arthritis was a disease that only touched the elderly. I had no idea it was an autoimmune disease that stemmed from my gut like so many other ailments do.
Now, I’m on a mission to help others heal and prevent gut health issues.
