I'm just... gonna leave this here and hide for two days: Rain spreads across the state Friday night into Saturday with, err, snow early Sunday.

As flood prep nears completion, Minnesota communities wait for rivers to rise
This week’s record warmth accelerated the snow melt, and rivers and tributaries across much of the state are rising. For people along the rivers, they've prepped. It’s now a matter of waiting (wading?) out the high water.

'A time to enjoy': Lao, Tamil and Cambodian New Year celebrations begin
With the sun exactly in the middle of the northern and southern hemisphere, it's time to start the year for many communities across Minnesota. There are about 37,000 Cambodian, Burmese and Lao people in the state (11 percent of our Asian population), while Asian Indians make up 15 percent.

🏥 Brooklyn Center man mauled to death in dog attack
A 22-year-old Brooklyn Center man died yesterday after four dogs attacked him outside his home. Police said they had initially expected him to survive and spend “several weeks” in the hospital. Residents of the home where the attack happened were taking care of the animals for the day but were not the owners of the dogs.
💊 Supreme Court keeps FDA abortion pill rules in place for now
The Supreme Court said it's temporarily keeping in place federal rules for use of an abortion drug, while it takes time to more fully consider the issues raised in a court challenge. The court asked both sides to weigh in by Tuesday over whether lower court rulings restricting the FDA's approval of the drug, mifepristone, should be allowed to take effect while the case works its way through federal courts.
⚠️ As river rises, St. Paul to close stretch of Shepard/Warner Road
Attn to those traveling in St. Paul: Expecting flooding, the city plans to temporarily close Shepard/Warner Road starting 6 p.m. Sunday. The route will be closed to vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle traffic starting between Eagle Parkway and Highway 61 — a stretch of just over 3 miles. That closure will also force downtown traffic changes along Sibley and Jackson streets between Second Street and Kellogg Boulevard.
