Senate passes marijuana legalization, bill heads into final discussions
In a major sign of momentum for legalization of adult-use marijuana, the Minnesota Senate approved a bill this afternoon that sets up a structure for growing and selling cannabis while revisiting convictions for past drug crimes. The bill is off to final negotiations with the House.

U of M graduate student workers win vote to unionize
This is the first successful unionization effort at the university for graduate students. Workers have to tried unionize five other times since 1974. They're pushing for increased pay and benefits, anti-discrimination procedures and more support for international students.

💧 River levels ready to slowly drop across Minnesota, but major cleanup lies ahead
Good news! I chatted with folks at the National Weather Service and they say, I quote: The worst is behind us. That is, flood wise. Rivers across the state are gearing up to, well, gear down. Stay off those closed roads for now, but the end is definitely in sight.
🐕 More canine influenza cases reported in the Twin Cities
The Twin Cities area is seeing an outbreak of canine influenza for the first time since 2018. Tips? Keep your pooches six feet from unfamiliar dogs. Any symptomatic dogs should be kept at home for a full 30 days. Symptoms: cough, fever, runny nose, lethargy
