Thao found guilty of aiding and abetting manslaughter in the killing of George Floyd
In his ruling, Hennepin County District Court Judge Peter Cahill wrote that ex-cop Thao discouraging his colleagues from using a tool called a hobble, which is meant to safely restrain someone, encouraged them to keep Floyd in the dangerous prone position, which can make it difficult to breathe.

3M announces plans to cut 1,100 jobs at Maplewood headquarters
3M did not offer any details on what proportion of its Minnesota workforce the layoffs represent, or what jobs will be cut. It wasn’t clear if any jobs had been eliminated recently, as some workforce reductions may not have triggered the state warning requirement for such layoffs.

🏥 Staff member seriously injured in assault at MSOP in Moose Lake
The worker at the Minnesota Sex Offender Program in Moose Lake was allegedly victim to an “unprovoked attack” by a client. He was performing routine rounds yesterday afternoon when he was attacked from behind then airlifted to a hospital.
