Air quality is forecast to be moderate statewide tomorrow after this wave of Canadian wildfire smoke passes through. By Thursday another cold front will drop south, and that may mix down more smoke to ground level, especially in northwestern Minnesota. Get the latest on Updraft

Final votes expected this week on bill to make marijuana legal in Minnesota
We're expecting tangible news about legal weed in Minnesota later this week. A House-Senate panel has resolved differences on the decriminalization bill, which would start in August and allow for retail sales sometime in 2024.

Torrential rain sends southern Minnesota rivers rising once again
Juuust  when it looked like spring flooding was old news, a few rivers are on the rise again in the wake of torrential rain. In some places, rivers have now topped the crests seen earlier this spring, from this winter’s historic snowfall.

📜 New gun measures headed to Walz’s desk
A $3.3 billion public safety and judiciary budget bill, which includes a pair of gun control measures, is on its way to the governor’s office for a signature after the Minnesota House of Representatives passed it on a 69-63 vote yesterday.

On Saturday, supporters of incumbent Aisha Chughtai took the stage and sparked an uproar among backers of her challenger, Nasri Warsame. Some jumped on stage, shouting, banging on tables and waving signs. At least two people were injured.
