Feds slam Minneapolis Police Department over years of racism, excessive force
A two-year federal probe of the MPD finds the police racially discriminate against Black and Native people, use excessive force and “unjustified deadly force” in policing and violate the rights of peaceful protesters. U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland called the findings “heartbreaking.”

As air clears, thousands of runners head to Duluth for Grandma's Marathon
Wildfire smoke gave us dangerously polluted air earlier this week, prompting the cancellation of many outdoor sporting events in the state. Air conditions have improved significantly since, giving participants one less reason to be short of breath this weekend. Good luck out there!
