Happy last day of June! Sunday we'll see highs into the low 90s for southern Minnesota with mid 80s north. Monday looks to be the peak of our heat and potentially the hottest day many of us have seen so far this season (ope). Highs could reach the mid-90s in southern Minnesota. Supreme Court strikes down student loan program
By a 6 to 3 vote, the high court ruled that federal law does not authorize the Department of Education to cancel student loan debt. The anticipated decision comes as a disappointment to federal student loan borrowers who were eligible for relief under the plan — as many as 43 million borrowers, or roughly 1 in 8 Americans.

Minnesota opens search for marijuana manager
The hunt is on for Minnesota’s inaugural marijuana boss. Applications opened today for the executive director position of the state’s new Office of Cannabis Management, the lead regulatory entity to oversee markets of hemp-related products and legal marijuana. Legalization comes in August; a full retail market could take a year or longer.

“The key is that there’s an approachability to it in Park Rapids. Artists and creatives, people in general, chefs — they’re doing things at a very high level, but not something that’s fancy and makes you kind of shy around or embarrassed. Because people are wearing sandals at the opening. It’s not the Metropolitan or something like that … it’s upscale but not uptight.”

⚖️ DOJ asks residents what changes they'd like to see in the Mpls Police Department
The U.S. Department of Justice held listening sessions this week to find out what provisions Minneapolis residents would like to see in a federal consent decree on the Minneapolis Police Department. They face skepticism from some residents who aren’t convinced any change is possible in the department.
🖥️ Thomson Reuters picks site for new Twin Cities office
The media company announced it’s going to move next year to a different site in Eagan. It’ll sublease more than 300,000 square feet of space at The Landing at 2900 Ames Crossing Road, not far from the Vikings training facility.
🚗 Traveling over the Fourth of July weekend? So is everyone else
