Welcome back, summer☀️. The sun was out today making it more seasonable with temps around the mid 70s. Things will heat up a bit more Wednesday. However, the PCA has issued an air quality alert for much of northern Minnesota until 10 a.m. Wednesday. Get the latest on Updraft.

💰 Late-summer stimulus: Minnesota tax rebates begin arriving
More than $1.1 billion will make its way from state government coffers to bank accounts or mailboxes of qualifying Minnesotans starting this week.  
🌳 A new fast-growing tree species out of Minnesota may be part of a climate change solution
Listen: A new cottonwood-poplar hybrid tree from the University of Minnesota can grow up to eight feet per year. Scientists hope the tree will meet the need for more shade in the state. 
🏳️‍⚧️ States that protect transgender health care now try to absorb demand
Waiting lists for gender-affirming health care are growing in states that declared themselves refuges for transgender people as bans for such care for minors take effect around the country.
